Dr. Daniel Herlihy biography




Dr. Daniel Herlihy graduated from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, with a pre-medical undergraduate degree.


Following this, he moved to Denton, TX. to study Graduate Microbiology (parasites, bacteria, and viruses.) During this time his interest was the biome (The 2.5 pounds of bacteria) of the human gut and how it influences behavior in people precisely how an overgrowth of E. Coli can affect a human's health. This area of study is now central in general health therapies and the new field of fecal transplants.


Dr. Herlihy went to Fort Worth to study at the prestigious Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduation, he did an internship at Tri-City Hospital and began his family practice in Mesquite.


The primary patient focus was Physical Medicine techniques in the reduction of pain and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.


Years later, after a car accident left him disabled, he reconfigured his interest to study brain health strokes and traumatic brain injury and other brain diseases like Alzheimer's. He has been involved in multiple clinical trials on brain health at the Center for Brain Health and Future Search, both in Dallas.


Dr. Herlihy, while being a patient himself, understands the difficulties of navigating the medical system, which is why he offers services is a Patient Advocate and Medical System Navigator.


Dr. Daniel is a born teacher. He mentored medical students from TCOM and resident doctors at Tricity hospital. Moreover, he continues to inform with public lectures concerning Brain Health and how to prevent Alzheimer's disease.



Dr. Daniel is also an author having written Chewy: A Doctor's Tail. Normal From Afar is his current book a memoir of his experiences with Traumatic brain injuries, released in the fall of this year.
